teh_node moved to App Engine
For quite some time I've been bothered by the amount of memory and resources that my teh_node website was taking up on the server. This was mainly because it was running on Plone, and thought Plone is a very strong Content Management Framework, it was a bit overkill for the my needs.
I also wanted to integrate teh_node into my google accounts a bit stronger, so naturally, when I had some free time on Thursday, I decided to re-launch the website on Google App Engine, and also make use of other Google features within the site. The process was very quick and simple (I blame Python ^_^), and because of the way I designed the back-end, all I needed was a single application to manage pages.
If I need any fancy visuals, I can just add images into the page, or embed any other web feature like Google Slideshows, Youtube etc. This works beautifully.
You can see the website up at: www.teh-node.co.za
